Will It Go Round in Circles?

As children we would play chase and no one wanted to be it, so to choose “the” person to be “it”, one person would get in the middle of a circle surrounded by all of the children who wanted to play and recite, “Round and Round and Round I go where I stop, nobody knows”!

We know that when you form a circle, it's not easy to step out of the way without breaking the cirlce. So you had to stand still or try to duck, but when the person opened their eyes, they could still see the person they stopped in front of. So many fun memories!

We are just like the Israelites. The journey to the Promised Land was an eleven day journey; but it took them forty years to reach it. (Deuteronomy 1:2 NLT) They continued in the wilderness going around and around and around the same mountain doing things they felt was acceptable to do; however, they would not receive freedom from it; or as we would like to say “a breakthrough”! Why? Because their mindset kept them from "freedom"! They were too weak in "mind" (Fearful, low self-esteem, lacking faith, doubt, insecure, and I'm destined to be poor mentality, etc) to receive the "strong mind" (Faith, trusting in God, boldness, courage, belief, patience, etc) to win the battles!

To keep doing the same thing in a different way, a different color, or a different place does not make it different. Change your thinking and you will change your circumstances. Example:  You date men that do not work, in constant trouble or party more than they should! Why? Because you feel you are not valuable enough to have better and receive better ~ interesting thing is, some of the things he is doing; you yourself do also!

Another example:  In high school you and your friends picked on the girl in school who studied hard and minded her own business. Today, she is the one who is successful in every area (Mind, spirit, and body) of her life! Why did you pick on her? Because you were jealous; and you secretly wanted what she had. So you chose to pluck with the chickens (friends) ; who were not doing anything positive anyway, and today~ they still aren’t.

“Success breeds success and failure breeds failure”! Get out of that circle and choose a better way of life and thinking! Once you do, God will work in ways you could not have imagined!

Read the book of Exodus in your quiet time and while you are reading it, journal the actions of the people and how they responded to a little discomfort and closely watch yourself when things in your life are not going your way! Do you act just like the Israelites and complain (which is sin) after God showed them time after time miracles that was profound? If you do not have a bible go to https://www.biblegateway.com and you will be able to read it in any bible translation you choose!

Do You REALLY Know?

I was in JC Penney a few years ago just browsing and this woman passed me calling a little girl who was in the shoe section to come on, she was ready to leave. The little girl quickly grabbed a specific pair of shoes and walked over to her, pleading for the shoes. Well being social, I commented they were very cute shoes and would look good on her. The Grandmother proceeded with, “She has more than enough shoes at home and although they are cute, we are not buying them”. The little girl begged for a short while and realized she was not going to win this battle, so the shoes went back to the shoe department. As the little girl was leaving, her Grandmother began telling me how she provides for the child quite often and her daughter (the child's Mother) do not have a good relationship. She badly berated her daughter to the point I said in my mind, “God should I pray for this woman”; because from listening to her story, I felt the relationship could not continue is this manner, an...

Can I "Love" You This Much?

Negative words tear people down and exposes them.  "Every prudent man deals with knowledge, but a [self-confident] fool exposes and flaunts his folly." (Proverbs 13:16 AMPC)  (Folly biblical definition: 2a. : criminally or tragically foolish actions or conduct. b. obsolete : evil, wickedness especially : lewd behavior.) Confronting someone is different than badgering someone! Badgering means to repeatedly pester.  "By pride and insolence comes only contention, but with well-advised is skillful and Godly Wisdom." (Proverbs 13:10 AMPC)  When we lovingly and patiently correct others the response will be peaceful, loving and accepting also; however, words spoken in anger and with the intention to hurt, comes from a malicious and wicked heart. Hurtful words repeatedly play over in a person's mind (like a broken record) of how they don't measure up to the World's standards; therefore putting that person in the forefront of a sure target for Sat...

God is in "Control"!

The students who marched boldly, stepped out and reached out to gain the attention of our leaders. It is a sad situation and the act of violence that truly needs to cease! As I briefly listened, the stories were not just with our schools, but in our communities, our homes, and our jobs. We are in harms way every where we go. It's not the guns, or is it poverty, wealth or the situation our lives have turned to; it's deeper than that! It comes back to the fear, the anger, and the hate that is warring in our spirit and soul to ignite the violence and use weapons that destroy and kill.  Picture Courtesy of my nephew Dere While listening to the protestors, I heard anger, fear, and exhaustion in their voices also; because they too want change that moves all of us to a state of "Peace" and "Love"!  Not so long ago, we heard, "Black lives matter"; and now it's back to addressing the numerous and continuous shootings in the schools.  The struggl...
