Do you know what's up ahead?

Every day you leave the subdivision, make a right onto Ongoing Street and a left to exit onto the highway. You never encounter an oncoming car on Ongoing Street; and you have been in your neighborhood for close to four years now! Today is nothing unusual, other than you are running late and slightly distracted; because your make-up is not complete. You still have to put on your lipstick and eyebrow liner!

In your mind, you are saying, "I can finish the make-up in the car while I am driving to the highway"! Yep, you sure can; after all oncoming traffic is null and void; until you get to the highway! Smooth sailing with all eyes in the mirror; and the unthinkable happens ~ a collision! Where did that car come from? I promise the road was clear! How could this have happened? These are all the questions you ask yourself while waiting for the police to come!

There are times we all run late, so haste makes waste ~ and there is no such thing as early late! Could it have been avoided if you called your place of  work, informed them you were going to be late and finish putting your make up on in the house? I'm not sure; but I am sure of one thing, talking to God and "Thanking Him" for His protection daily probably would!

We take everything for granted, including God's protection! During those four years you have been driving to work, God was keeping you safe through the neighborhood and on the highway! Even coming in and going out, you were safe! If God did not have your attention before, He does now!

Don't blame God nor should you feel He is punishing you either! Your attitude and freedom from harm allowed you to become complacent and indignant to all that God is and still does do for you! If you feel it is not necessary to daily speak to God and Thank Him for protection, provisions, and good health, than continue on that path!

King David went to battle on the same field many times and knew the battleground better than anyone, yet he did not make the assumption he would win without asking God first should he fight and if so, will he win the battle!

Now the Philistines came and spread themselves out in the valley of Rephaim. 19 Then David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You give them into my hand?” And the Lord said to David, “Go up, for I will certainly give the Philistines into your hand.” (II Samuel 5:18-19 AMP)

This is another encounter on the same battlefield with the Philistines, in the Valley of Rephaim, another day and time! David asked of God, "Shall I go", as if it was his first battle!
Now the Philistines had come and made a raid in the Valley of Rephaim.
10 David asked God, Shall I go up against the Philistines? And will You deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said, Go up, and I will deliver them into your hand.
11 So [Israel] came up to Baal-perazim, and David smote [the Philistines] there. Then David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like the bursting forth of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim [Lord of breaking through].
12 [The Philistines] left their gods there; David commanded and they were burned. (I Chronicles 14:9-12 AMP)

David understood how important and beneficial it was to rely on God! I'm not sure if you are aware; but God is omnipresent ~ He knows what's up ahead and can keep you from making mistakes, being defeated, and even preventing a wreck, when we lean totally on Him!

David found that out in another battle against the Philistines, only this time, God said no, I want you to go another way!

13 And the Philistines again made a raid in the valley.
14 And David inquired again of God, and God said to him, Do not go up after them; turn away from them and come [around] upon them over opposite the mulberry trees.
15 And when you hear a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry or balsam trees, then go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to smite the Philistine host.
16 So David did as God commanded him, and they smote the army of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gezer.
17 And the fame of David went out into all lands, and the Lord brought the fear of him upon all nations. (I Chronicles 14:13-17 AMP)
This is why God called David, “A man after my own heart” (I Samuel 13:14). If you want to open a business ask God will it be successful, if you want to run a marathon, ask God if you are healthy enough! Ask of Him and He will answer!

Appetizer # 7

# 7 Objectives (n) - something your working towards Increase! ---Hmmm! Increase in what? I'm not sure what you mean by increase! Increase in finances maybe ~ or increase in knowledge ~ or perhaps you mean increase in healthy friendships!  All of these are attainable; however, they are not accomplished without work on our part to obtain them ~ and keep them. Maybe you want to increase your household! Uh Oh! (Big Smile) ~ VUALA ~ here's your baby! Wow that would be wonderful if it worked out that way, but we know better huh?  How many of you have really sat down with a goal in mind and established a step by step plan to reach that goal? I have never done that, I have always flown by the seat of my pants and they would always work out! NOW? It's not that easy. I have had to think things through more, pray about them and believe they will happen!  What I mean by that is, I became independent of Christ (sure of my own works), instead of dependent (leaning totally ...

Appetizer # 6 - Dreams

Appetizer #6 Dreams - Images in the mind For years, I would have the same dream of entering a beautiful mansion and I could remember being awestruck of how beautiful it was. I would marvel at the quality of its craftsmanship.  I would slowly walk down the beautiful marble staircase into the basement.  Once I got to the bottom of the stairs, there was this black door that had a little window on it. Imagine going into a dungeon and the only way anyone could see out was through this peep hole and vice versa.  When I went to open the door, an evil spirit would come near me and I would wake up immediately! As I mentioned this dream went on for years, until I realized that it was the devil. As soon as I confronted him that he will no longer allow me to live in fear of God's blessings and that he had no power over me either, the dream stopped immediately. I know that my ways are not God's ways and my thoughts are not God's thoughts, but to live a life filled with God's ...

In Dark Times, RUN to Jesus!

If you view God through how and what your earthly parents instilled in you, whether it was right or wrong; no wonder so many do not come to God ~ without one plea!   Let me explain! If your Father or Mother were mean, controlling, did not keep a promise they made, promiscuous or did not show their love towards you; whereas, instead of seeking Jesus, you WILL seek the opposite of who Jesus is! Especially when we are hurt, depressed, or feeling unloved! Once again, God is not harsh, hard or sharp and slow to anger! “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but ...
