Yep, That's What I Do!

God is not concerned about your profession, where you live, or how much money you have. I’ve heard so many people say, “Oh they live in this neighborhood, or oh, they work at this place making $9.00 per hour”.  I have to chuckle because we cannot store up earthly treasures here on earth and take them with us to heaven.

No one should hang their head low because of the jobs they do, where they live or how much money they make. Yes we need money to live in this world, but it should not be at the discretion of others to obtain it; or we should not seek financial wealth to impress the world.

I’m going to be happy with whatever it is God has allowed me to do and do it well. I recall working at a casino about 9 years ago and there were several women from Jamaica who worked in the housekeeping department ~ you talk about excellence. These women would come in and get together and sing a spiritual song to start their day – They sang so well it was like listening to song birds. Wow, even thinking about it now brings joy to my heart. And throughout the day, they sang while they worked. They truly were women who were thankful and showed it by how they did their work and because of their excellent work ethics; they were requested by millionaires and high rollers who treated them like queens and tipped them above and beyond their pay.

So remember anything God has given us to do, do it well, God sees you and will reward you~ with gladness!

In this new life one’s nationality or race or education or social position is unimportant; such things mean nothing. Whether a person has Christ is what matters, and he is equally available to all. Colossians 3:11 TLB

Do You REALLY Know?

I was in JC Penney a few years ago just browsing and this woman passed me calling a little girl who was in the shoe section to come on, she was ready to leave. The little girl quickly grabbed a specific pair of shoes and walked over to her, pleading for the shoes. Well being social, I commented they were very cute shoes and would look good on her. The Grandmother proceeded with, “She has more than enough shoes at home and although they are cute, we are not buying them”. The little girl begged for a short while and realized she was not going to win this battle, so the shoes went back to the shoe department. As the little girl was leaving, her Grandmother began telling me how she provides for the child quite often and her daughter (the child's Mother) do not have a good relationship. She badly berated her daughter to the point I said in my mind, “God should I pray for this woman”; because from listening to her story, I felt the relationship could not continue is this manner, an...

Can I "Love" You This Much?

Negative words tear people down and exposes them.  "Every prudent man deals with knowledge, but a [self-confident] fool exposes and flaunts his folly." (Proverbs 13:16 AMPC)  (Folly biblical definition: 2a. : criminally or tragically foolish actions or conduct. b. obsolete : evil, wickedness especially : lewd behavior.) Confronting someone is different than badgering someone! Badgering means to repeatedly pester.  "By pride and insolence comes only contention, but with well-advised is skillful and Godly Wisdom." (Proverbs 13:10 AMPC)  When we lovingly and patiently correct others the response will be peaceful, loving and accepting also; however, words spoken in anger and with the intention to hurt, comes from a malicious and wicked heart. Hurtful words repeatedly play over in a person's mind (like a broken record) of how they don't measure up to the World's standards; therefore putting that person in the forefront of a sure target for Sat...

God is in "Control"!

The students who marched boldly, stepped out and reached out to gain the attention of our leaders. It is a sad situation and the act of violence that truly needs to cease! As I briefly listened, the stories were not just with our schools, but in our communities, our homes, and our jobs. We are in harms way every where we go. It's not the guns, or is it poverty, wealth or the situation our lives have turned to; it's deeper than that! It comes back to the fear, the anger, and the hate that is warring in our spirit and soul to ignite the violence and use weapons that destroy and kill.  Picture Courtesy of my nephew Dere While listening to the protestors, I heard anger, fear, and exhaustion in their voices also; because they too want change that moves all of us to a state of "Peace" and "Love"!  Not so long ago, we heard, "Black lives matter"; and now it's back to addressing the numerous and continuous shootings in the schools.  The struggl...
